ABOUT BAOA (MANDATE)
The Botswana Accountancy Oversight Authority (the Authority) was established through the Financial Reporting Act, 2010 as read with the Financial Reporting (Amendment) Act, 2020, as the independent oversight body of the accounting and auditing profession: to regulate the reporting of financial matters of Public Interest Entities (PIEs) and the corporate sector; and for matters incidental thereto.
Main purpose of the job
To undertake audit practice/engagement reviews, financial reporting monitoring and corporate governance reviews of Public Interest Entities in accordance with applicable local and international accounting, auditing and corporate governance standards under the supervision of the Principal and Senior Reviewers.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Audit, Business/ Administration or related qualification.
• Chartered Accountant (ACCA, BICA, CIMA or any equivalent professional qualification) and member of the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA).
Experience:
• A minimum of 3 years post qualification audit experience.
• Up to date with the latest developments in the accountancy profession.
• High level proficiency in report writing and the use of MS office programs.
