VACANCY
Selebi Phikwe Citrus is seeking a highly experienced Production Manager to join their team and contribute to the success of a large-scale citrus operation. The ideal candidate must have at least 10 years’ experience in citrus farm management and a strong hands-on approach to both strategic and day-to-day responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
• Overseeing greenfield orchard development and care of young citrus trees.
• Implementation and record keeping of:
• Chemical application schedules
• Fertiliser programmes
• Irrigation routines
• Pruning activities
• Other key horticultural actions (e.g., girdling)
• Ensuring quality assurance and performance monitoring of:
• Spray application efficiency
• Harvest processes
• Pest and disease scouting, control strategies, and proactive risk management.
• Managing and coordinating teams responsible for all operational activities listed above.
• Providing daily reports to farm management, flagging any deviations or challenges.
Requirements
• Minimum 10 years’ hands-on experience in citrus farming operations
• Proven leadership and team coordination skills
• Thorough knowledge of pest and disease control in citrus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Relevant agricultural diploma or short courses
