Job Description To plan, build, optimise and implement innovative quantitative analytical methodologies, procedures, products and advanced mathematical models that provide analytical support and interpret insights, to address business opportunities and problems and implement business strategy, with minimal guidance Develop, encourage and nurture collaborative relationships across area of specialization Participate in planned activities that are appropriate for own development Contribute to creative business solutions, optimization of processes and conduct statistical modelling and data analysis to inform strategic decisions, under limited supervision Assist in the delivery of value-add outputs across the analytics value chain in delivery of business strategy Implement localized Analytics strategy to address business needs, under limited supervision Utilize, refine and enhance advanced statistical models and data analysis to inform decision making and address business needs Develop new insights into situations and apply innovative solutions to make organizational improvements Manages risks in own area of responsibility Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation The individual will be responsible for the Management of the Bank’s Provisioning process and Overlays (including ensuring continued compliance with IFRS9 requirements) and will therefore be the secretariat of the FNBB Provisioning and Impairment Committee. Ensuring continued adherence to external audit requirements and are the credit department’s external audit liaison. Finance Reporting and Recons (Schedule 24 reporting, Provisions, Interest in Suspense, Advances and NPL reconciliation and are custodians of some of the bank’s general ledger accounts). Education & Experience Minimum Qualification - Relevant Degree in Maths, Stats, Engineering, Computer Science, Econometrics, Physics or Actuarial Science Preferred Qualification - Honours Degree knowledge of accounting and regulatory standards, especially; Basel Accord (IRB) and IFRS9 Fundamental understanding of impairments, credit modelling, and credit risk. Experience - 3 to 5 years experience in a data environment, of which 1 to 2 years ideally at a junior specialist level Data mining, analytics and modelling (Python, SQL, MATLAB, SAS, S-PLUS or R) Competencies & Skills: Communications and Presentation skills. Good customer relations skills. Attention to detail.
