FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR-
An “authorized instructor” means a person who — (a) holds a valid and current ground or flight instructor rating issued by the CAA for conducting ground training or flight training; or (b) is authorized by the Authority to provide ground training, flight training, or other training under the CAR’s.
KEY RESULT AREAS
Develop, maintain and demonstrate high standards of knowledge and adherence to applicable BCAR’s and the policies and procedures contained in the company flight operations manuals.Develop, maintain and demonstrate high standards of knowledge of the AFM, Company SOPs, aircraft systems and technical information.Develop, maintain and demonstrate high standards of flying proficiency in accordance with the Company SOP, AFM and accepted aviation practices.Ensure the safe and proper conduct and completion of each training flight.Ensure that all flight training is carried out in accordance with the flight training procedures contained in OMD.Ensure that all flight training is carried out in accordance with the flying methods, policies and procedures that are relevant.Oversee and ensure the correct completion of all pre-flight paperwork by the trainee pilot prior to a training flight or series of flights.Oversee the aircraft pre-flight inspection carried out by the trainee pilot and confirm as far as practicable that the aircraft is in fact airworthy for the intended flight or series of flights.Ensure full disclosure on training records and ensure that flight training records are an accurate and detailed representation of the flight training that occurred.Ensure active participation in, and promotion of, the companies Safety Management System. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Valid CPL, Class 1 medical and applicable type ratingAn active line pilot, employed by the company.Valid CAA flight instructor rating (or is approved by the CAA to provide flight and ground instruction).1200hrs total flying experience, andMinimum 200hrs PIC on a C208B (If pilot holds an instructors rating)Satisfactorily completed the appropriate proficiency, competency and recency of experience checks that are required to serve as a PIC and Instructor.COMPETENCIES
