Role Description The Asbestos Supervisor role at WRS Ltd is a full-time, on-site position based in the South East. The supervisor oversees asbestos removal projects, ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with legislation, guidance, and company procedures. Day-to-day tasks include planning works, briefing and directing site operatives, checking equipment and materials, and completing necessary documentation such as risk assessments, method statements, and site reports. The role involves conducting site inspections, coordinating with clients and internal project teams, and monitoring air testing and clearance procedures where applicable. The Asbestos Supervisor is also responsible for promoting a positive safety culture, identifying potential risks, and supporting training and mentoring of operatives.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience supervising asbestos removal or related environmental projects, with strong knowledge of relevant UK regulations and HSE guidance.Recognized asbestos supervisor training (e.g., UKATA or equivalent) and a valid asbestos medical; additional health and safety certifications are beneficial.Strong project coordination and site management skills, including planning works, managing resources, and maintaining accurate documentation.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to brief teams clearly and liaise professionally with clients, consultants, and regulators.Proven commitment to safety, quality, and compliance, with the ability to identify risks, implement control measures, and promote best practices on site.Good IT and administrative skills for completing reports, recording data, and using basic office software; a full UK driving licence is typically required.Ability to work in physically demanding environments, use PPE correctly, and follow strict decontamination procedures.Previous experience in construction, demolition, or environmental services, and familiarity with respiratory protective equipment and site monitoring, is advantageous.
